ORIENTATION : Darjeeling is situated in the lower Himalayas at an altitude of 6,982ft.It lies in the northern side of West Bengal and has Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan as its neighbours.
HISTORY : The name Darjeeling otherwise means ‘the Land of Thunderbolt’.
